JKO login help: with or without a CAC
Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) at jkodirect.jten.mil takes either your CAC or a username and password. If CAC login fails at home, the official fix is to add a password to your existing account.
1. First time, with a CAC
- Go to jkodirect.jten.mil, choose Login using my CAC, and complete your account profile. That creates your account, and you don't need a second one. If there's no certificate prompt, fix your CAC reader and DoD certificates.
2. Log in without a CAC (existing account)
- On the JKO login page, use Forgot User Name if you need it. It's emailed to the address in your JKO profile.
- Click Forgot Password / Expired Token and enter your username and that email address.
- JKO emails you a one-time token (not a password). It expires after 24 hours.
- Back on the login page, click Received a Token, enter your username and token (copy and paste it), and create a password that meets the on-screen rules.
- Log in with your username and password.
3. No CAC and no account yet
- If you have a .mil, .gov, nps.edu or dodea.edu email you can access, use the official JKO Account Request form.
- No CAC and no eligible email? Use the Sponsored Account Request. A U.S. military or federal civilian sponsor (not a contractor) has to verify your need. JKO says this takes about 24 hours after the sponsor approves.
4. Locked or deactivated account
- JKO deactivates an account after three wrong passwords. Use the reactivate / Forgot Password link, or contact the JKO Help Desk listed on JKO's official help page (24/7 except federal holidays).
