How to read it (VA's own example)
70% rating, spouse, 3 children under 18, spouse gets Aid and Attendance: start with $2,074.45 (spouse + 1 child), add $76.00 × 2 for the 2nd and 3rd child, add $141.00 for Aid and Attendance = $2,367.45/month.

What about 2027 rates?
- VA says it's required by law to match the percentage of Social Security's cost-of-living adjustment (COLA).
- Social Security announced a 3.6% COLA for 2027 on Oct. 14, 2026 (SSA release).
- VA has not posted an official 2027 rate table as of Oct 15, 2026. VA's new rates normally take effect Dec. 1; because VA pays a month in arrears, the first higher payment usually lands around the end of December or early January. We'll post VA's official table here once it's out, not an estimate.
- Special monthly compensation (SMC) has its own tables: VA SMC rates.
